1. If you have experience riding a scooter or motorcycle, there is no better way to get around the island quickly and inexpensively than renting a scooter. Oleander Cycles has a great reputation and services entire island with multiple shops, the most convenient for cruise passengers been right there at dockyard near where you exit the pier.2. If you don't feel comfortable on two wheels, the most economical and actually quite convenient way to go is on the public bus. Just make sure you have exact change or bus tokens for the round trip. Everyone in Bermuda is nice, really nice, so just poke your head in any restaurant or shop and ask a local where to catch the right bus, how much it costs, and maybe even buy the tokens if they have them there. If you're just going on trip plan on about five dollars per person.3. The most convenient after scooters, but a little bit more expensive option is to travel by taxi. Most of the drivers are independent and will give you a card to call them for a return, or better, schedule a pick up time, but be sure they have your contact information to let you know if they have experienced any delays, and be sure to call them and let them know if your plans change. This will be unlike any taxi driver experience you have ever had. It truly is like having a friend pick you up, drop you off, and return to pick you up again without any games or hustles. The rates are available inside every car, and being taken advantage of by your driver is extremely rare. We have even left personal belongings with our favorite driver before, knowing that we would see her again later in the day and not wanting to carry everything with us to the beach. We take a scooter usually, but if memory serves me, it seems the fair is somewhere in the neighborhood of $60 round-trip to the south shore beaches. Don't quote me on that, hopefully somebody reading this can provide you with accurate numbers :-)6 days ago
